In many ways there was nothing surprising about this scoreline. Top versus bottom was always going to end in another heavy win for the Antlers, and so it turned out to be. However, the league leaders didn’t have it all their own way as Old Cranleighans put in a spirited display, dominated possession, and asked a few questions of the Antlers defence, especially in the first half. Teddington were much changed for this one, with a few regular starters not available. Will MAVIN and Gabe ROBERTS started at full back and wing respectively, with Stu RIDLER being deployed from the back row into the center in a revamped back line. Rory MERCER was also moved into the front row from his usual position on the flank, and Adam PRICE took his place on the bench after impressive recent outings for the 2nds. In the end there were lots of trys including an impressive haul of four from MAVIN who has raced up the try scoring leaderboard in his first appearance of the season. There were also scores for Bob BEEEVERS, Alfie RANSOM, Olly HOLLAND, and Gabe ROBERTS, with BEEVERS adding five conversions. Another impressive outing for Teddington as they keep up a perfect record in this league campaign. Final Score Teddington RFC 50 Old Cranleighans RFC 0. Man of the Match Bob BEEVERS
The 2nd XV travelled over to old foes Chipstead on Saturday looking to keep the pressure on the leaders at the top of the merit table. After a close first half, Teddington turned around 16-14 to the good, however the second half got away from the Antlers as Chipstead took control and racked up 28 unanswered points. There was a try for skipper Jasper GIBB, but it wasn’t to be on the day. Final Score Chipstead 2nd XV 42 Teddington 2nd XV 16.
